Root Canal/Amalgam Removal Update!

I had my upper left amalgams and root canal removed in November! I was nervous about the root canal. It seemed like a much easier process to put it in vs taking it out. 🙃 I’ve wanted to get the massive amount of amalgam out of my mouth for awhile but finding the right place that knew how to do it safely was key. This is not a quick process but much needed for my health. ⁣

I knew without a doubt @naturalsmilesdentalcare was where I felt safe. I’ve met Dr. Thompson, Dr. Pearson (kids’ dentist) and Dr. Bailey. They are all amazing. Dr. Bailey did my amalgam and root canal removal today. His skill at injecting anesthetic should not go unnoticed. I had charcoal under my tongue, oxygen on, suction, a dam to separate the tooth, they wore protective equipment, chlorella mouth rinse, and I was sent home with Vitamin C tablets and detox clay bath.⁣

Between my amalgam removal and root canal remedies I saw Denise Schneider, who was the kids’ dental assistant and working with them with bioresonance scanning. She normally just works Monday’s but just happened to be there. We chatted and I told her I was nervous. She gave me some rescue remedy homeopathy to help. When you find a team that “gets it” it’s incredible. ⁣

Before the root canal removal I had a couple of tubes of blood drawn to spin down to grab plasma rich fibrin to help with healing. ⁣

I dove into root canals a few years back and knew it was something I wanted removed. I have some thyroglobulin antibodies that have been high and I need to make sure this isn’t part of the problem. ⁣

My root canal was done about 15 years by an endodontist. He got the root well filled which isn’t always the case. It was brittle & broke into small pieces coming out. Once all removed he put ozone in it to help with infection and placed my PRF. He put a couple sutures in and I was done! ⁣

I was sent home with instructions & dental pain homeopathy remedy. ⁣

I’m sore tonight, but so happy to have this out of my mouth. I’ll go back in 2.5 months to have a repeat cone beam scan done to make sure my mouth is ready for the implant. I wish I knew back then what I know now as I’d do it differently and go straight to the implant. ⁣

Update 2/13/24- About 2 weeks ago I started having pain in my upper left teeth. It would come and go and radiate to my lower jaw. When it didn’t go away after a couple days I made an appointment at the dentist to have it looked at. I was worried it was my root canal area/jaw bone. An xray was done that showed the bone was healthy and no issue there, but Dr. Bailey saw a crack on the molar where an amalgam was removed. It was going into the nerve which was why I was having the pain I was having. He cleaned the crack area and placed 3 vials of ozone into the nerve area to try to address any bacteria that might have gotten in. He told me he was glad I came in when I did as at that point I had a 50/50 chance of saving that tooth.

The next few days should show slow improvement and if not it was concerning for nerve damage or an abscess. We were leaving in a few days for Florida, which made me nervous. One of my healing friends recommended using cell salt Mag Phos and Chamomilla homeopathy, which I didn’t have on hand so planned on grabbing that ASAP. I had about 1 day of pain improvement, but the next day brought horrible pain. It was a squeezing pain that made the tooth tender to touch. I couldn’t go without advil and relied on that for the next two days. The pain would wake me up so I grabbed Aleve to try to hold me over through the night. Earlier that day I also bought the Chamomilla homeopathy and started that. I took Aleve the second night and the next morning woke up with much less pain. At first I thought the Aleve was still working but as the day went on the terrible pain never came back. I didn’t need another dose of Advil or Aleve and continued with the Mag Phos Cell Salt and Chamomilla. Through those days I prayed a lot, focused on sleep, sunlight and faith that my body would heal. I love homeopathy and this is a prime example of when you find the right remedy it is amazing. I’m hopeful that I am having the best outcome with that tooth and nerve.

Today I had my repeat cone beam scan for my root canal area to proceed with the implant and will need to get my vitamin D level checked, which I’ll do in clinic tomorrow.
