The Meal Planning Tool That Is Saving Me!

Over the years I’ve used a lot of different meal planning systems. I genuinely like using AnyList and still do for adding recipes from my stash to the week. It’s organized and straightforward, but it’s completely manual. I’m choosing recipes, building the grocery list, calculating quantities, and transferring everything myself. It does work, but is also a lot more work. Add in my body composition goals and this has been a match made in heaven. I love sharing what is working for me!

Over the last six months I’ve been more intentional about my body composition goals. I increased protein, adjusted carbohydrates around training, and the biggest shift for me was actually tweaking fats. That’s where I saw the most noticeable change.

Fats add up quickly, especially when you cook from scratch like I do. Extra olive oil, butter, dressings, higher fat meats. They’re healthy, but they’re also energy dense. Being more mindful there made a real difference.

That’s also why I love using Lillie Eats and Tells (@lillieeatsandtells). She’s very macro aware. The meals are balanced, protein forward, and designed with intention. I’m not starting from zero each week trying to calculate everything in my head. I’m starting from a solid framework and tweaking from there.

The grocery list is built. The quantities are clear. (Unless you miss it and order 15 bundles of cilantro 🫣). It makes the process so smooth.

And in this season, that is what is working for us. The 4:30pm dinner scramble never feels good.

Every time I commit to planning, things go better all around. Nutrition improves and stress decreases. The week runs more smoothly. This is huge for us.
